Workshop: Introduction to Coffee Roasting (5 November 2026)
Roasting is where green coffee becomes something you can drink, and where most of its potential is either found or lost. This session is a first look at what happens inside the drum.
Three hours at our roastery, on the machine we roast on every week. We follow a batch from charge to drop, watch the curve as it develops, then cup what we roasted against the same coffee roasted differently. Three hours won't make anyone a roaster. What it will do is show you what the roaster is actually looking at, and why.

Workshop: Introduction to Coffee Roasting (5 November 2026)

We teach the sessions we wish we'd been able to book
Most of what we know about coffee we learned standing next to someone who knew more, so we open the roastery and pass it on. The sessions run with IdCoffeeLab: they bring the teaching, we bring the roastery and the coffee. Brewing, cupping and roasting, in groups small enough that everyone gets their hands on the machine.
Before you book
The things people ask us most. If yours isn't here, write to us and we'll answer.
If you want the coffee you make at home to get better, start with Home Barista. If you want to taste more precisely, and understand why one coffee costs more than another, book Cupping. Roasting is the one to do once you're curious about what happened before the bag. They don't build on each other, so you can start anywhere. Still unsure? Write to us and tell us how you make coffee now.
No. Every session is built so someone doing it for the first time can follow it, and someone who already brews every day still leaves with something. You don't need to own any equipment either.
Spanish. Groups are small, so if you'd rather follow it in English, tell us when you book and we can usually run it that way.
Tell us at least seven days before and we'll move you to another session or refund you in full. Inside seven days the coffees and the places are already prepared, so we can only pass your place to someone you name.
Yes. Book the place, send us the name of the person coming, and we'll get in touch with them. If the date doesn't suit them we'll move them to the next session.
We're at our roastery in Ajalvir, north east of Madrid, easiest to reach by car, with parking outside the unit. Coming by public transport? Write to us and we'll help you work out the connection.
Yes. Tell us how many of you there are and what you'd like to get out of it, and we'll put a session together around that.
Hands-on coffee workshops at our roastery, run in partnership with IdCoffeeLab. Three-hour sessions in small groups covering brewing, cupping and roasting, taught on the same equipment we use every day. No experience required, just an interest in understanding what ends up in the cup.
